After School Classes

After School Art & Science Online Registration Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis so please note that in order to secure your spot in any of our programs, payment must be received in full. For after school programs, kids can take the Panda Bus with Mrs. D. from CBCS to The Trailhead, and the 5:15pm town bus is available to bring students back to town from Mountaineer Square after class.

Winter 2012 First Session, 1/2/2012 – 3/16/2012

Mondays: Ceramics and Wheel Throwing

Held at the ASCA at 111 Elk Avenue in town

The Art Studio of The Center for the Arts (ASCA) has a fully equipped ceramics studio with wheels, slab roller, ceramicist’s tools, and kilns. Students will have the opportunity to learn both hand-building and wheel throwing. They will be guided through the process of taking their artwork from raw clay to greenware to bisqueware through to glazed and finished pieces.

Wednesdays: Fine Arts – World Art

A View of the World through Art

Study art around the world in this class and learn to create masterpieces in the styles of various countries and cultures. We will focus on developing our fine art skills in drawing, painting, and sculpture through this thematic study of world art.

Thursdays: Advanced Art Class

For Ages 9 and Up

This exciting new program has been developed to take our older artists to the next level of learning in the visual arts. While an underlying focus will continue to be on developing basic visual arts skills, students have the opportunity in this class to make meaning and connect with their artwork. This session will begin with a focus on sewing, both by hand and on the machine. Please call or email us to learn more about this class.
