The Fieldtrip programs are offered at the Trailhead for Pre-K through 4-grade classes in public, private and home school environments.
It’s the our mission to offer new and exciting thematic programs each year with a focus on integrating unique, hands-on learning opportunities and play. Each year we focus on a particular theme such as Healthy Living,Tinkering, Toy Take-Apart, and Early Science Concepts. In 2015 we will focus on Lego Engineering. Programs are generally offered on Mondays and Tuesdays in April and May, but arrangements for special dates can often be arranged.
Programs are $2 per student (no child will be tuned away for lack of ability to pay) and require a two hour time block. The Fieldtrip Program includes a whole group lesson, learning stations and free play time in the museum. We ask that teachers schedule their visit in advance to allow for proper staffing, materials and planning. Additionally, we request that one class attend at a time (or no more than 30 students) to allow for optimal learning and a quality museum experience. Teachers and parent volunteers may be asked to assist when the class breaks into small groups.
