Trailhead Children’s Museum floor will be reopening in summer 2022. We are excited to bring back a community space for families to gather and explore, create, and play together. The Trailhead will reopen at our new home, the old Center for the Arts building at 606 Sixth Street in Crested Butte, CO.
This reopening is made possible by partnerships with the Crested Butte Center For the Arts (CFTA) and the CFTA Preferred Partners Program, the Crested Butte Arts Festival, I.D. Sculpture, Mountain Colors, and our Trailhead families and friends.
The new Trailhead Children’s Museum will feature our signature Art Bar, an indoor play and climbing structure, dramatic play, loose-parts play, and STEM exploration; among other rotating exhibits. The Trailhead will also include an art studio classroom, that will allow the Trailhead to enrich and expand our arts and play programming.
The Trailhead Children’s Museum will reopen early summer 2022, and we invite the Crested Butte community to join in on the fun! Pre-sale memberships are available now at a discounted rate, and will allow members access to museum admission, program discounts, and more.
As we rebuild the Trailhead, we will need volunteers with a variety of skills! If you can contribute with skills in construction or carpentry, exhibit creation and organization, or in working with children, please reach out! Email our Executive Director Sarah Broadwell at director@trailheadkids.org to learn more about how you can be involved as a volunteer.
Do you have the capacity to donate financially or to donate materials? In order to build this community gathering place, the Trailhead will need your help! If the time is right for you and your family, please consider donating today.
