Time: 9am – 3pm
A day camp for kids ages 5 to 9 designed to make them think, problem solve and exercise their creative minds, all the while having a blast painting, sculpting, drawing, printing, photographing, molding, texturing and designing. Students will also play outside every day, and often get to enjoy the museum when space allows.

June 10-14: Let’s Rebuild!: Make 3D sculptures with metal, wood, and recycled materials.
June 17-21: Space Exploration: What would it be like to go to space? Through the creative process, explore what it would be like to be an astronaut going to space for the first time.
June 24-28: Hooray For Clay: Get your hands dirty while having fun pinching, coiling, and sculpting sculptures and pots.
July 1-5: Art and Nature: Design outside art insulations using earth’s materials like well-known artist Andy Goldsworthy. Use techniques from Claude Monet’s Plein-Air paintings while making your own landscapes.
July 8-12: The Secret Garden: Celebrate the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival and learn about the beauty of plants, flowers, and insects through outdoor exploration and different art materials.
July 15-19: Wild World of Watercolors: Learn about the many different techniques and styles of painting with watercolors.
July 22-26: Famous Artists and Scientists: Study the masters and learn about great inventors while creating your own art and performing fun science experiments.
July 29 – August 2: Wonders of Water: Explore the process of papermaking, tie-dye, and STEM aquatic projects.
August 5-9: Animals, Creatures, Monsters and More: Draw, paint, and collage different animals with habitats from around the world or imagined by you.
August 12-16: Mountain Musicians: Create your own instruments and experiment with the science of sound.
August 19-23: Behind the Mask: Learn how to make your own costumes, masks and props with different materials and techniques.
